Building a sustainable exhibition industry, one stand at a time.
Exhibiting without the waste. Without the compromise.
We don’t just talk about sustainability; we embed it into everything we do. From cutting carbon to rethinking waste, we apply industry-leading frameworks, challenge outdated practices and create high-impact exhibitions without the environmental cost.
As market leaders, we’re pushing the events world forward, proving that bold, brilliant design and sustainable choices go hand in hand.
This isn’t about ticking sustainability boxes. We create extraordinary experiences that leave a lasting impression, without leaving a trace.
Sustainability Accreditation
When we say we’re sustainable, we back it up.
Our accreditations hold us to the highest industry standards, proving that our approach isn’t just talk, it’s action.
Tecna carries comprehensive insurance for all our work, but we don’t stop there.
As a member of the Event Supplier and Services Association (ESSA), we are also protected by the ESSA Bond, an independent bond scheme designed specifically for the events and exhibitions industry.
The ESSA Bond exists to protect clients in the unlikely event that an ESSA member defaults under contract. It is structured to respond to financial losses incurred by exhibitors, organisers, or fellow ESSA members during contract.
What this means for you:
Added financial reassurance beyond standard insurance
Protection backed by a specialist bond
Coverage for UK and international projects
Confidence that your supplier meets recognised industry standards for quality, expertise, and business practice
ESSA represents around 300 event industry companies worldwide and actively promotes best-in-class professional standards. Membership and access to the ESSA Bond, is granted only to companies that commit to those standards.
Please note, the Bond cover is subject to specific terms, conditions, and guarantee-period requirements.
Insurance and ESSA Bond FAQs
What’s the difference between insurance and the ESSA Bond?
Insurance covers specific risks and liabilities as defined by our insurance policy. The ESSA Bond is different: it’s an independent bond scheme designed to respond if an ESSA member defaults under contract and a client incurs a financial loss. Together, they provide layered protection.
Who provides the ESSA Bond?
The ESSA Bond is arranged by ESSA and underwritten by a specialist bond insurer with experience in the events and exhibitions sector.
Who is protected by the ESSA Bond?
The Bond is designed to protect:
· Exhibitors
· Event organisers
· Fellow ESSA members
in the event of a contractual default by an ESSA member during exhibition-related work.
How much cover does the ESSA Bond provide?
The Bond provides:
· Up to £100,000 per ESSA member engaged in exhibition installation, services, or equipment supply
· An aggregate limit of £300,000 across all ESSA members within a 12-month period
Does the ESSA Bond apply outside the UK?
Yes. The cover includes UK and international work, provided the contract is with a UK-domiciled ESSA member.
When does the ESSA Bond apply?
The Bond becomes active during the exhibition build-up period, known as the Guarantee Period.
Does the ESSA Bond replace insurance?
No. The ESSA Bond does not replace standard insurance. It sits alongside our insurance as an additional safeguard, offering clients further reassurance.
Are there any limitations?
Yes. Like all insurance and bond arrangements, the ESSA Bond is subject to policy terms, conditions, exclusions, and timing requirements. Full details can be obtained directly from ESSA here.
Our commitments: measurable impact, real change.
Net zero by 2030
We’re not waiting for 2050. Our roadmap to net-zero means reducing carbon across procurement, production, and logistics and only offsetting as a last resort.
Zero waste to landfill
By 2030, we will send nothing to landfill. From end-of-life recycling programmes to partnerships for material donation, we’re cutting waste at every stage.
100% renewable energy
By aligning production with peak solar generation, investing in storage solutions and electrifying our fleet, we’re working towards powering Tecna with 100% self-generated energy.
Redefining sustainable exhibitions and events
Bold solutions. Breakthrough thinking. Impact that lasts.
We’re leading the change.
The exhibition industry is one of the most wasteful on the planet, but it doesn’t have to be. We’re setting a new standard for events, combining intelligent design with strategic mitigation to cut carbon, eliminate waste and drive lasting change.
We’re here to prove that sustainable exhibiting isn’t about making compromises – it’s about making smarter choices.

Focused on making measurable changes to our business practices
Responsible sourcing: every detail counts
Sustainability isn’t just about what’s visible, it’s about every choice we make. From eco-friendly office supplies to responsible supplier partnerships, we apply a zero-compromise approach across our entire business.
Smarter offsetting: only when necessary
Offsetting isn’t a get-out-of-jail-free card. We prioritise reduction first, only offsetting unavoidable emissions through impactful, meaningful projects that align with our values.
We continually review our energy partnerships, the sorting and storage of waste, and the type of raw materials we source to ensure continuous improvement.
Carbon reporting: data that drives change
Every Tecna project includes detailed carbon analysis, helping brands understand and reduce their impact, because knowledge is power.

Tecna helps brands exhibit more sustainably through transparent carbon reporting that measures and reduces environmental impact, backed by recognised sustainability accreditations and a commitment to 100% renewable energy.
What makes an exhibition stand sustainable?
A sustainable exhibition stand prioritises reusability, waste reduction, and energy efficiency. We use modular frameworks, FSC-certified wood, and eco-friendly graphics, ensuring low environmental impact without compromising design. Our approach includes carbon tracking, responsible disposal, and reusable materials, helping brands achieve low-waste, net-zero exhibiting.
Can a sustainable stand still be fully customised?
Yes, a sustainable stand can be fully customised. Modular, reusable systems allow complete control over layout, structure, finishes and graphics, so brands can push creative limits without generating unnecessary waste. Sustainable design also unlocks a wide palette of creative materials, from recycled aluminium frames and FSC-certified wood or bamboo, to fabric graphics made from recycled polyester and fully recyclable carpets and flooring.
How do you reduce waste during stand build and breakdown at Team Tecna?
At Team Tecna, we reduce waste by following a zero-waste strategy, using reusable modular frameworks, recyclable graphics, and eco-friendly flooring. Any materials reaching end-of-life are repurposed, recycled, or donated. Our focus on low-waste exhibiting ensures stands are designed for reuse, not landfill.

Bold visuals, strong structure and standout details are all still on the table, using premium sustainable materials and low-waste systems that look just as striking as traditional builds.
The impact comes from confident design choices, clear branding and creative use of materials that do more with less. We use that approach to prove you don’t have to sacrifice wow-factor to reduce impact.
How do you ensure stands are reusable across multiple events?
To ensure stands are reusable across events, we design modular, adaptable exhibition stands that can be reconfigured, refreshed, and reused. Our durable, premium materials allow brands to maximise stand lifespan, ensuring a fresh, high-impact presence at every event while significantly reducing waste and costs.
