Storage terms & conditions

1. Agreement & Acceptance

By storing items with Tecna, the customer agrees to these terms and conditions in full. Any modifications to these terms must be agreed upon in writing before storage begins.

2. Storage Period & Costs

2.1 Minimum Storage Period: Tecna requires a minimum storage duration of three months, with payment made in full before storage commences.
2.2 Renewal & Billing: The storage period will automatically renew, and the customer will be invoiced accordingly unless written cancellation is provided at least 30 days before the renewal date.
2.3 Non-Payment & Abandoned Items: If payment is not received or if the customer fails to respond to communication within 30 days of the invoice due date, Tecna reserves the right to dispose of, sell, or otherwise remove stored items at its discretion. No compensation will be provided for disposed goods.
2.4 Pricing Review & Adjustments: Storage costs are subject to review at the end of the agreed period or if storage volume, item size, or handling requirements change.
Additional charges may apply for inventory management, repackaging, or handling.
2.5 Storage Fees: Storage fees are calculated per calendar month based on item size, weight, and handling requirements. Handling, inventory checks, and additional packaging materials will incur separate charges. Current pricing is available upon request.
2.6 Packaging Requirements: The customer is responsible for adequately packaging all items before delivery to Tecna. If Tecna provides additional packaging, a packaging fee will apply.
2.7 Item Description & Measurements: Customers must provide accurate descriptions and dimensions of all items before delivery. If discrepancies occur, additional fees may apply, and Tecna reserves the right to refuse storage of misdescribed items.
2.8 Right to Withhold Goods: Tecna reserves the right to retain stored goods until the final balance has been paid in full.

3. Liability & Condition of Stored Items

3.1 Prohibited & Restricted Items: Tecna reserves the right to decline storage for any items deemed unsafe, hazardous, flammable, or otherwise unsuitable for storage at the discretion of the Operations Manager.
3.2 High-Value Items: The customer must notify Tecna of any single item valued at £2,000 or more before it is accepted for storage. Tecna reserves the right to refuse high-value items or require additional insurance.
3.3 Liability & Responsibility: Tecna accepts no liability for stored items that:
• Were not originally supplied by Tecna.
• Were not inventoried or checked by Tecna’s operations team prior to
storage.
• Deteriorate due to age, environmental conditions, or improper packaging.
3.4 Graphic Storage & Condition Guarantee: Tecna only guarantees stored graphics supplied by Tecna for up to 12 months from production, provided they have been handled exclusively by the Tecna team. This guarantee does not cover normal wear and tear from use.

4. Accessing & Modifying Stored Items 

4.1 Advance Notice Required: A minimum of five (5) working days’ written notice is required to add to, remove, or access stored items.
4.2 Pre-Approval & Labelling: Any new items must be pre-approved by Tecna before arrival and must be clearly labelled with a description of contents. All items must be suitably packaged for long-term storage.
4.3 Handling & Retrieval Charges: Requests for inventory checks, repackaging, or partial retrieval of stored items may incur additional handling fees.
4.4 Tecna’s Right to Relocate Stored Items: Tecna reserves the right to relocate stored items within its warehouse as needed to optimise space and operations.

5. Termination & Removal of Stored Items

5.1 Customer Termination: Customers wishing to terminate storage must provide 30 days’ written notice before the renewal date.
5.2 Non-Collection of Items: If stored items are not collected within 30 days of termination or non-payment, Tecna reserves the right to dispose of or sell the items without further notice or compensation.
5.3 Early Termination Fees: If storage is cancelled before the minimum three month term, the customer remains liable for the full three-month storage fee.

6. Insurance & Risk

6.1 Customer Responsibility for Insurance: Tecna does not provide insurance for stored items. Customers are responsible for insuring their goods against loss, theft, or damage while in storage.
6.2 Tecna’s Liability Limitation: While Tecna takes reasonable precautions to protect stored items, it is not liable for loss, damage, or deterioration due to fire, flood, theft, vermin, accidents, or any other unforeseen event.
6.3 Damage Claims: Any claims for damage must be reported within 48 hours of collection from storage.

7. Governing Law & Disputes
7.1 Jurisdiction: These terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales.
7.2 Dispute Resolution: Any disputes must first be addressed through written communication with Tecna. If unresolved, both parties agree to mediation before legal action.
