Sykes Cottages

Sykes offers their customers the ability to book a huge range of over 20,000 holiday cottages to rent across the UK and Ireland. Each one of the holiday cottages has been personally inspected by a Sykes property expert and is priced fairly and affordable.

They exhibit at around 8-10 events per year, up and down the UK.  

The Challenge

Sykes Cottages needed multiple shows to be delivered in relatively quick succession, with a sensible but quality solution that could be repurposed effectively where possible for the best economies of scale. The business objective was to deliver a stand experience to engage with potential new clients, and to welcome existing clients for meetings. The brief was to create a stand that had a warm and homely feel, but that clearly and concisely showcased the experience they offer, especially when stood alongside their competition to grab best share of voice at busy event venues, with a lot going on.  

The Solution

An Island stand space design was created, which would be the launch design basis for the forthcoming additional shows. The design created impact along with a WOW factor to it. Director James Longley shared initial concept designs for both the standalone Island stand and 5x3m Stand space which could be used across multiple shows. Once signed off, the project moved across to Project Manager Tom to deliver final execution, communicate regularly with the Sykes team and to manage final details such as furniture and carpet choice, giving the stand the perfect quality finish expected by the client.  

The team utilised Tecna UK’s range of best-in-class activations such as the Interactive Touchscreen Totum to display Syke’s website, and a prominent mounted screen to play compelling content to engage customers on the stand and draw new customers to the stand when passing.  

In Action

With a successful first show now completed; Sykes now has a 5x3m Stand ready for the next shows coming up. The Sykes team had a great onboarding experience not just with design but across the business including our ace installation team giving them the confidence they will have the best possible project delivered on time, every time  

With Syke’s event manager Katie and Tecna UK’s project manager Tom now working closely together to tie up all show details, it means the team can ensure any added requirements and tweaks are captured and ensure every stand is perfect for each show.
